Well, here we are in December, the year is almost gone…., and what did I do for the whole year? I don’t think I have done much, let alone writing something special. I did manage to post something at least 3 times a month until my computer or rather my storage drive crashed and up to now I am still preoccupied with all my unorganized/missing files. I can’t seem to focus to the next blogging theme and move on…
I know. I’m lazy. But I made myself a New Years resolution that I would write myself something really special. Which means I have ’til December, right? – Catherine O’Hara
However, what I will never forget about this year is that my husband and I visited Iran, beautiful country that is ignored by the world of its beauty and history due to it’s political differences with main stream world politics.
Besides Iran, I managed to visit India; – for the first time (even though it was the 2nd time for Keith), which was also a unique holiday for us, as we went there for India’s Holi (colour madness) festival. Even though I was not particularly impressed with how the Holi Festival was conducted for us, I was impressed by the beauty of Taj Mahal and I would like to go back to India to see the holy city of Varanasi. Turkey or rather Istanbul was the next place we visited this year. Just to see how it was in Ramadhan and the Eid holiday and to celebrate in Europe’s Muslim country.

The grandsons
I also managed to do quick trips back home to Indonesia, but going home to me is always a ‘working holiday’ instead of a normal holiday, as normally there are a lots of domestic agenda that is not worth telling as a blog post but the visit is always meaningful and worthwhile. As for my husband, he did not managed to go ‘home’ to the UK, but instead we went to Australia, to visit his grown up children and their off spring – the grandchildren. A quick long weekend visit to Abu Dhabi in January was the trip that I did not quite manage to write about this year. I did however manage to write about our working visit to Bahrain which brought back memories of our short posting in that country.

What I did not manage to do:
Last April, I rambled on about my blog in a mess and that would I try to organize it better, so that you all could read and search better within my blog: nada… I did not manage it (or maybe a better term is that I haven’t finished it) until another glitch comes up – I crashed my storage drive…. I guess I have to carry on working on the external problem rather than blogging it self….
