5 Day Photo Challenge: On the Look

I accepted a photo challenge from Indah Susanti, which is a combination of two challenges: Black and White 5 Days Photo  Challenge and Five Photos – Five stories Challenge. This is my last day of those Photo Challenges, where  I post 1 Black and White photo a day, together with its originally colour photograph and the story attached to the photograph.

By the end of each post I will invite bloggers to participate in the challenge. Bloggers can decide whether to do both challenges or just one  challenge or not do any of the challenges at all. The rules for the 5 Day Challenge are:

  1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W only for Black and White Challenge OR in color for Five photos – Five stories Challenge.

  2. Each day invite another blogger friend to join in the fun.

    Cheetah on the Look Out

Today, the title of my blog is where a Cheetah is “on the look out”. Out of so many big cat families Cheetahs are one of them, however the cheetah not part of the Pantherinae  subfamily, instead its part of the Feline subfamily, together with the Genus Lynx, Wildcats or even Domestic Cats.  It’s habitats are mostly in Africa and parts of Iran. Though I didn’t manage to see any on my visit to Iran, as it’s reported to be either EW (extinct in the Wild) or CR (Critically Endangered), I did managed to see some on my safari to Kenya. Known as the fastest mammal on land, it can reach up to 100 km/hr in only 3 seconds. However as sprinters, cheetahs will not waste their energy chasing after their prey aimlessly, they  only chase for a few hundred meters and they are found mostly in open and partially open savannah area. Cheetahs rely on tall grasses for camouflage when hunting their favourite food: gazelles. However, to be able to look at where their prays are, from time to time they stand on a mound of termite nest; to get a bit of height and see where those gazelle are.

The Challenge Invitation I invite de Wets Wild a family who blog about their neighbourhood which is the South African wild life and nature. Include in their blog posts are pictures about exotic African animals as well as the ever so beautiful landscape.  However to keep this challenge alive as well as for the sake of blogging,  I think it’s better to invite everybody, to you all to who read this post/blog to do this challenge. Remember, the rules for 5 Day Challenge are:

  1. 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W for Black and White Challenge OR in color for Five photos – Five stories Challenge;
  2. Each day invite another blog friend to join in the fun. The picture could be anything, photos of everyday life or from your travel or special moments etc.

    • Yes, I agree, the colour picture shows more detail than the B+W, but I think the cheetah in B+W stands out more than the colour picture, it surprised me when I turn it B+W as to me the cheetah stand out more than the colour picture.

    Wow, what a photo, as maybe the cheetah was spying its prey :)). Ooh, and in another version, the cheetah was looking at the camera! Amazing.
